The Joys of Spring Makeup

Spring is here, and with it comes some fresh new color trends to play with! Spring 2010 brings a couple of unexpected twists, and I LIKE IT!!!

Let me start by saying...having fresh moist looking skin is an absolute MUST this season. If you look through the latest fashion magazines, uber-matte skin is LONG GONE. Skin looks glowing and dewy. This look can easily be achieved with the awesome all-over face colors that are the big rage right now (ie., idBareMinerals "Radiance" collection). Cream blushes with a slight sheen can have the same effect. Try them! They add an UH-mazing healthy glow to the skin!

Now for our color trends....

1) Pink Cheeks and Lips - I'm not talking about shy and wallfower-ish pastel pink here...I'm talkin' hot pinks and fruit punch-y shades of pink. Even on one of those days when you don't feel like putting on an entire face of makeup...bright pink lips will give a fun and chic effect instantly.

2) Silvery Eye Liner - Think charcoal gray with a sparkly KICK in the pants. Trick: Make a fairly thick line along the lid, and then use a black liner right along the lash line for definition. It's an extremely dramatic look that's practically effortless.

Pair it up with.....

3) Shimmery Nude Gloss - This looks gorgeous with a sexy dramatic eye. Tip: Use a soft nude pencil underneath to give lips greater volume and definition.

4) Metallic Purple shadows and Liners - The new shades of purple are intensely vivid and metallic. Try a metallic purple liquid liner along the lash line, and brush a shimmery purple shadow along lower lash line...VERY elegant!!!

5) Khaki Shadow - Khaki is one of the easiest colors to wear, and enhances just about ANY eye color. It's casual and fresh. Looks fantastic when combined with a dusting of bronzer across the cheeks and bridge of the nose (which is the ONLY place bronzers should be applied, by the way).

So there you have it...the five big color trends for spring makeup. Buy them...play with them...have fun!!!
