Spring
Fashion 2010

HOT - PRINTS AND FLORALS: No longer must we stick to boring basic colors. The look of prints is blooming, from dresses, tops, shoes, bags, even on pants, all varieties have made their way onto the spring runways. Digital prints have given designers the ability to create patterns never even heard of before. Floral is the other big print, and it has a way of fitting everyone’s style due to its dual capability, enabling it to be sweet or edgy. Designers are offering larger, graphic florals in bright patterns, bold “exploding florals” in black and white, and of course, traditional tiny floral prints. For an updated way to rock this traditional trend, try pairing your favorite floral pieces with tougher accent pieces–think leather jackets or fringed boots for a look that’s the perfect mix of sugar and spice.
HOT- SOFT: A hot new trend is soft which does not mean frilly blouses. Pick any article of clothing and you can find it in tempting colors and textures. The best thing about spring is discovering you don’t have to compromise your comfort for your style. If you want to try it, don’t go overboard in head-to-toe girlie… that’s for dolls. Try a soft frilly skirt with a jacket, or pair with an edgy shoe, however you feel the need to make your mark on this one.
HOT- SHORT SHORTS: If ever there was a time to hit the gym, it's this spring. Hemlines have crept up to shorter than short level. They are showing up on mini’s, dress shorts, jumpers, and tap pants. This season it’s going to be sticking around… if you’re not up for it, don’t worry there’s plenty of other new trends to try. But if you've got fabulous legs, this is the season to flaunt 'em!
HOT - COLOR- GRAY/SILVER: When we think of spring most go straight for pastels of all shades, not that this is a bad thing, but right now it’s the gray family to give a try. Using this shade the right way instantly sets you apart from the black pack, gray also looks softer on skin. This is very easy to pull off as well since gray is perfect for highlighting lines and clean cuts in items which are perfect for work or during the day. Switch at night to silver which not only begs for attention… it gets it.
HOT - SEXY SHEER: In spring, fashion tends to get a little more revealing… we blame it on the heat, and one's desire to show off. However, designers were not holding back with their bedroom-wear looks for outerwear. Anything goes here… from silky camisoles, to laced up corsets, sheer and sexy are probably the perfect combination. You can vamp it up for a date night or cover it up if you want to try the look during the day. This look pairs perfectly with dark eyes and messy hair.
HOT - SPORTSWEAR: This just goes to show how casual the style will be this spring, which is perfect for those of us who love the laid back “Texas” style. Designers showed of lines inspired by sportswear all over the runway this year. Most of the inspiration came from football… the simple laid back comfortable feel was the look from socks, shoulder pads, and tanks. Other looks had a dancer feel… think American Apparel. To try this look does not mean wear your gym shorts and t-shirt out all the time, but sports inspired looks will be popping up everywhere… give it a try, you’ll probably like this one.
10 must haves for Spring 2010
1. Floral Dress – Nothing says hello
Spring like flowers… short or very short, these fun dresses should be
just that… “FUN”.
2. Bright Blazer – A pretty color ads an
unexpected pop to a favorite old outfit. This look is a breeze.
3.
Something Khaki – Its neutral tone leaves endless possibilities and
transitions easily from day to night.
4. Sequined tank – it works
for day or night and has another great benefit, no need to accessorize
up top that’s already included.
5. Short Shorts- this is a great
way to show off those legs so do it!!!
6. Jumpsuits/ Playsuit
-first it was the one piece bodysuit, now the shorter version is fun and
playful and comes in more possibilities than you think.
7.
Corset – a shapely corset can be worn under a jacket during the day and
played up as much as you want for night! This is definitely my favorite
style this season.
8. Bow Headband - These can be as small or as
big as you want… bows, flowers, and other pieces are available in a wide
variety.
9. Lace – 2010’s lace trend is anything but old
fashioned, it is flattering on anything and everything, and there’s no
end in what to wear it with.
10. Clogs or Wedges – the
natural feel mixed with pretty details make these the must have spring
shoe.
