Q & A: with DJ Ocean
San Antonio radio celeb and local spin-meister D.J. Ocean from The Beat 98.5 FM sits down with
MFM's Hayley Breeze Dunlap for some 1-on-1 Q&A.

MFM: How did DJ Ocean become your name?
O: It came from not having a name. I also love old school entertainment like the rat pack and the original Danny Ocean who was portrayed by Frank Sinatra. I am a very big fan of that music and time period… so that’s pretty much how I came up with DJ Ocean.
MFM: What kind of music did you or do you specialize in?
O: Right now its hip hop and R&B, but I have done it all. From Country to Tejano and Rock, I’ve pretty much conquered all genres of music.
MFM: What do you think makes you different from other DJs around here?
O: I don’t play what I wanna’ hear, I play what they wanna’ hear! It’s all about the listeners.
MFM: What else do you do besides DJ?
O: I like to chill with my friends, practice and listen to music.
MFM: What artists over the years have influenced you to do what you do?
O: Pioneers like Jazzy Jeff, DJ AM and Grand Master Flash have always been great influences on me.
MFM: Ok, so what would you say your style is if you had to describe it?
